Dont let these thiNgs bring you down

Life isn’t always a bed of roses is it? We can hope that life will go smoothly, that we will be able to sail through pretty unscathed, but the truth of the matter is, everyone has issues in life they have to overcome at some point. While it is evident that you will go through some rubbish times, you also need to ensure that you know what you can possibly do to get through them.

Last year was certainly a testing time for so many, and it only highlighted exactly what is important and what isn’t. There were things we used to take for granted and we were no longer able to do. Forced to stay at home, work from in some cases and even homeschool. As we enter into a new year, it is with a new hope and gratitude for things. So it is important that we don’t let some of the common things we can all go through bring us down, and we preserve our mental health to the best possible mindset we can be in. with that in mind, here are some of the common areas where we can all feel a little down and out, and why it is worth working through them to ensure that we live a positive and fulfilled life.

A relationship breaking down

When you start out in a relationship, everything seems fantastic doesn’t it? The flirting, the lust, the fun times and dates. But as you stay together, and the longer your relationship goes on, things can change. Sure you may get married, you may have children, and then suddenly you are two people living together and going through the motions of life. Does that sound familiar? However, if you feel like your marriage is on the rocks, you may want to consult professionals in the area and find out what your options are. But, before taking drastic action, why not try and work on your relationship and smooth over those cracks. Date nights, rekindling the romance and communicating with each other can make a bad situation come good once more. You have to sometimes remember the reasons why you fell in love. Relationships can break down, and often it might be that you are happier apart than together. However, there are many success stories where relationships were on the verge of breaking and somehow managed to reconcile and find the love once more. It is up to you to decide which is the best course of action, but it shouldn’t be something that you throw away unnecessarily.

A financial situation gone bad

Finances are some of the hardest things we have to manage On a day to day basis. Not all of us have endless funds for everything that we need in our lives. But sometimes we need to be able to get through the tough issues without much damage. Financial situations can be resolved fairly quickly, if you start by not burying your head in the sand and hoping it will go away. Instead, why not focus on paying off debts, getting a better job or even just trying to pay things off as often and quickly as possible. It is never easy, and it can be a really stressful situation to be in, but it certainly can be resolved with a bit of work. Maybe this uis the year that you start to work on your finances in a positive way, and get things back on track so that you can achieve those financial goals that you might have set.

The loss of a loved one

Another thing to think about is the loss of loved ones. The last year may have meant that you lost people close to you because of contracting covid-19. Or maybe things went unnoticed and untreated because of the global pandemic pressure on hospitals and staff. There is no denying that losing a loved one will hit you hard, and it can send you spiralling into a negative state as you grieve and work through your feelings. However, you can positively mark their lives with a decent send off when things are better, and also thinking of having a memorial where you can visit and pay your respects. You could look into grave marker headstones in bronze or a plaque with the important information on it. It could even just be a plot or a place where you spread the ashes. It will never be an easy thing to go through, but many of us have to deal with it at some stage in our lives. So remembering them in a positive way and keeping the memory alive will help you do that.

Losing your job when you aren’t expecting it

Finally, losing your job can be devastating, especially when you don’t see it on the horizon or expect it to happen. It can happen for many reasons. A mistake that you didn’t mean to make. A redundancy or a restructure in the workplace. But it can have you worrying about what is next and what might happen to the future. If this happens to you, try not to panic too much. Instead, focus on this being an opportunity to do something different or to find a better position. Be proactive and work on your resume, seek out job opportunities and make contacts with people. Network as much as you can. You may find that this bad situation turns out to be one of the best situations you find yourself in. it could even be the push you need to start your business or work for yourself. Being your own boss might have always been a  dream and opportunities come about for many different reasons so this could be a sign that you are heading for bigger and better things.

Sometimes it is hard to not be brought down by these things but let’s hope that this has you motivated to get through some of the tough situations we can all find ourselves in.
